Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement that you will receive upon booking confirmation or when you collect your vehicle. This document outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance coverage, fees, and your obligations for that rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Requirements for Car Rental
- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire in Walsall, drivers must be at least 21 years old, though age restrictions may differ based on vehicle type, and additional fees may apply for those under 25. A valid driving licence suitable for the vehicle category is required, along with proof of identity and current address. Valid payment information and a security deposit must also be provided, along with any other criteria outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Options
- Reservations can be completed online, via phone, or directly at our Walsall office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The remaining balance and security deposit are usually payable upon vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT as applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment systems.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- Upon collecting your vehicle, please conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage right away. A vehicle condition report will be created and signed by both parties. When returning the vehicle, it should be in the same condition as when it was collected, aside from standard wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may incur charges. Ensure the fuel level matches that at the time of collection; refueling fees will apply if the fuel level is lower. Late returns may attract additional fees, so please notify us promptly if you anticipate a delay. You are responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during your rental, along with an applicable administration fee.
5. Coverage and Responsibility
- All rentals come with basic third-party insurance included. The specifics of coverage and any excess amounts will be outlined in your Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be offered to help limit your financial liability. Please review these options thoroughly. You remain liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess amount, unless additional insurance is purchased. Damage resulting from negligence or misuse remains your responsibility, regardless of insurance status.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the booking type and the notice period provided. For specific information, consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Please be aware that late cancellations or no-shows could incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Usage
Prohibited uses of the vehicle:
- Use of the vehicle for any unlawful activities is strictly prohibited. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or engaging in any dangerous driving. Transporting hazardous materials or allowing unauthorized individuals to operate the vehicle is not permitted. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is unacceptable. Vehicles must only be used for their intended purposes, and adherence to passenger and weight limits is required. Driving outside the agreed geographical boundaries without prior consent is not allowed.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
8. Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Walsall is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims is limited to the rental amount you paid in the last 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.
9. Local Legal Framework
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in this region.
10. Updates to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect as soon as they are posted on our website. Your ongoing use of our services indicates acceptance of the revised Terms.
